Dylan Meyer’s directorial debut, “The Wrong Girls,” is underway in Los Angeles, one of the first independent films to begin production after the recent wildfires. Kristen Stewart (“Love Lies Bleeding”) and Alia Shawkat (“Blink Twice”) lead the cast, which also includes Seth Rogen, Kumail Nanjiani, LaKeith Stanfield, Zack Fox, and Tony Hale.
“The Wrong Girls,” written and directed by Dylan Meyer, centers on Frankie (Stewart) and Molly (Shawkat), two best friends whose lives are upended by a mistaken identity. Neon will distribute the film in U.S. theaters and internationally.

Kristen Stewart is back with Neon for “The Wrong Girls,” her third project with the studio after “Spencer” (Oscar-nominated) and “Crimes of the Future.” Following her acclaimed role in “Love Lies Bleeding,” Stewart’s upcoming projects include “Sacramento” (April 11), her directorial debut “The Chronology of Water,” “Flesh of the Gods” (alongside Oscar Isaac), and the Amazon MGM limited series “The Challenger.”

Alia Shawkat’s recent credits include “Blink Twice,” Apple TV+’s “Severance” (Season 2), and the Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner “Atropia.” Dylan Meyer produced Stewart’s “The Chronology of Water” and co-wrote “Moxie.”
Neon, the studio behind the Palme d’Or winner and six-time Oscar nominee “Anora,” has a busy slate. Their recent releases include Mohammad Rasoulof’s “The Seed of the Sacred Fig” (Best International Feature nominee) and Osgood Perkins’ “The Monkey.” Upcoming productions include Boots Riley’s “I Love Boosters,” David Robert Mitchell’s “They Follow,” and Michael Covino’s “Splitsville,” in addition to “The Wrong Girls.”
